Server virtualization has been around for 30 years. We just haven't heard much about it because it wasn't needed by everyday individuals. In today's computer age, where everything is done by computers and the work from home trend that is growing by leaps and bounds this type of server resource is needed and being rediscovered. Major computer companies have been creating software to increase the capabilities of computers and to make them stronger and increase memory and storage with out the high price. This trend setting concept allows you to take advantage of space that is not being used. You have the capabilities with your own computer to do this. Most of the servers in your computers use only a small portion of space. With server virtualization, you are able to utilize several different servers and their space that is not being used. With a software application, you can divide one physical server into multiple virtual servers.

These virtual servers are sometimes referred to as guests. With a software application you are able to create these guest and not affect your system. The physical server will not recognize it as an intrusion but accepts it as part of it's working system. You are able to save time and money using this type of system, because you are able to add more space and memory by using the multiple servers that are in the computer. With one physical server you could create 3 separate virtual guests independent of the physical server. Just imagine if there are several physical servers with in your computer, just think about how many virtual guests that you could create to help you work on those big projects.

Server virtualization can be seen as a trend in the IT business to include storage and networking virtualization and the creation of autonomic virtualization. This is where the physical server can eventually conduct itself through activity that is perceived and create and work independently. The users will not have to worry about the complexity of the system since the autonomic virtualization will do it for them. This is how users will be able to spend more time on the workload than having to set up the applications. It will also create more space for the user to be able to work and expand storage for those important documents.
